Installing the mysql2 gem on OS X with Macports

 

gem install mysql2-- --with-mysql-config=/opt/local/lib/mysql55/bin/mysql_config

or using bundler

bundle config build.mysql2 --with-mysql-config=/opt/local/lib/mysql55/bin/mysql_config

then run bundle
